Two World Boxing Federation
(WBF) Champions are set to
defend their titles when
Kalakoda Promotions presents “A
Fistful of Dollars” on Friday
August 31 at the International
Conference Centre in Harare,
Zimbabwe.
WBF All Africa Cruiserweight
Champion Chamunorwa “Sting”
Gonorenda, 11-12 (7), will be
looking to continue the
resurrection of his career when
he takes on London-based
Nigerian Southpaw Tony Salem,
11-1 (6), in his first defense.
Gonorenda was 7-12 after losing
to former WBF World
Cruiserweight Champion Ilunga
Makabu in April of 2017, but
since then he has won four
straight, including three
stoppages, and picked up the WBF
title last August by defeating
Kaminja Ramadhan.
In the co-featured bout, Lukas
Ndafoluma, 12-1 (4), will be
making a very quick turn-around
as he defends the WBF
Intercontinental Middleweight
title only four weeks after
winning it with a third round
stoppage of Ebenestus Kaangundue
on August 3.
“The
Demolisher”, from Windhoek in
Namibia, will be facing Hussein
Itaba, 4-1-2 (3), and while the
Tanzanian has proven himself to
be quite capable despite his
mediocre statistics, Ndafoluma
must be considered a healthy
favourite going in.
The show, which also features an
interesting encounter for the
Zimbabwe national Light
Welterweight title between Peter
Pambeni and Philip Musariri, as
well as a strong undercard, will
be televised across Africa on
Kwesé Sports.
