When Gladiator Promotions,
headed by Marco Antonio Rodarte,
promotes at the Auditorio del
Estado in Mexicali, Mexico on
Saturday, September 22, the show
will be headlined by an
intriguing clash between two
promising prospects.
Local man Leonardo Baz, who is
taking part in his first
professional championship fight,
is set to square off with
Alfredo Mejia Vargas, from
Ensenada, with the vacant World
Boxing Federation (WBF) Mexican
Super Bantamweight title on the
line.
“El
Leon” Baz brings a record of
12-1 (7), while “Rambo” Vargas
is 10-1-3 (2) and has the
advantage of going ten rounds
one time before, when he drew
with Eduardo Baez (11-1-1) for a
minor regional title this past
May.
Both men are undefeated in their
last five outings, and both have
scored some decent victories
leading up to this fight, but a
victory on September 22 will
undoubtedly be a career
highlight for whoever comes out
victorious.
A big crowd is expected at the
arena, and the Leonardo Baz vs.
Alfredo Mejia Vargas World
Boxing Federation (WBF)
championship main event will be
preceded by a stacked undercard
featuring local talent in
well-matched bouts.
