World Boxing Federation (WBF)
Womens Intercontinental Super
Flyweight Champion Hee Jung Yuh
successfully defended her crown
for the first time on Sunday
afternoon local time, December
16, at the Gimhae Gymnasium in
her home-town of Gimhae, South
Korea.
Yuh, a former two-weight World
Champion who won the WBF
Intercontinental title last
December with a unanimous
decision over Li Ping Shi from
China, didn't have to work quite
as hard this time as she stopped
Thailand´s Saowaluk Nareepangsri
at 1:34 of the fifth round.
Riding a six-fight
winning-streak, and closing in
at a potential shot at the WBF
World Super Flyweight title in
2019, Hee Jung Yuh (39) improved
her professional ledger to 21-3
(11). 24-year-old Saowaluk
Nareepangsri drops to 7-15 (1).
On the same show, local puncher
Seung Ho Lee, now 5-0 (5),
captured the vacant WBF Asia
Pacific Welterweight title when
he demolished another Thai
visitor in Girapan Boonpeng, 4-1
(4), in the second round. Time
of stoppage was 0:40.
On Saturday, December 15, at the
Ennie Sportpark in Moers,
Germany, Lebanese Ali Rami won
the vacant World Boxing
Federation (WBF) International
Cruiserweight title, eliminating
Slavoljub Mitic from Serbia in
the third round.
In the main event of a show
promoted by Klaus Waschkewitz,
referee Jens Uwe Baum waved the
fight off after three
knock-downs in the third,
resulting in Rami (37) improving
his professional record to 12-1
(11), and Mitic (36) falling to
9-9 (6).
