Belgium-based Tunisian
lightweight Hedi Slimani, now
7-1 (5), gave a masterclass to
Denmark’s late, late substitute
Tommi Schmidt on Saturday,
January 29 in Ecaussinnes,
Belgium to win the first title
of his young professional
career.
Referee Tonio Tiberi from
Luxemburg stopped the fight
after 0:43 min. of the ninth
round, with Schmidt visibly
shaken, and awarded the WBF
International belt to the
23-year-old Slimani.
Slimani did not set a foot wrong
and won every round, even
scoring a knockdown along the
way. With his quickness and
power, the new champion seems
primed for a successful further
career, which is guided by the
clever Francois Condello as
manager. He staged this
promotion in cooperation with
Challenger Events. |
