24-year-old World Boxing
Federation (WBF) Womens World
Super Flyweight Champion Eva
Voraberger is set to make her
first title defense on Saturday
November 1, on a show promoted
by Boxteam Vienna at the Admiral
Dome in Vienna, Austria.
Voraberger, 18-3 (9), captured
the WBF World title last June
with a hard-fought and close
unanimous decision over
Thailand’s Nonggift
Onesongchaigym, and she will
undoubtedly be aiming for an
impressive performance against
Hungarian challenger Renata
Domsodi.
Domsodi, 12-5 (5) and the
reigning WBF International
Champion at Bantamweight, is no
stranger to fighting at world
level. After losing her debut in
2011, she put together seven
straight victories before
challenging Ramona Kuehne for
the WBF Super Featherweight
World title in January 2012.
Despite fighting above her
natural weight, Domsodi put on a
good performance before losing
by technical knockout in round
eight due to a cut eye, and in
2013 she was given a rematch.
While she also lost the second
go-around with Kuehne, Domsodi
again proved her worth.
In March of this year, Domsodi
defeated undefeated fellow
Hungarian Alexandra Vlajk to win
her WBF title at Bantamweight,
and three months later she
traveled to Mexico to challenge
WBC World Super Flyweight ruler
Zulina Munoz.
Again Domsodi put up a good
performance, but the incredibly
accomplished Mexican, who holds
one of the most impressive
records in female boxing
(43-1-2), was too much for her
in the end and successfully
retained her title for the sixth
time.
Now Voraberger has a chance to
see if she can also defeat
Domsodi at Super Flyweight, and
the challenger is desperate to
make it fourth time lucky in her
quest to become world champion.
At 39 years of age, she knows it
could be her last opportunity,
and a desperate fighter is often
a very dangerous fighter!
