The World Boxing Federation
(WBF) will return to Mexico for
the first time since Covid-19
put the world on hold, when
Giovannie “King Gio” Gonzalez
and Jose Luis Roa fights for the
vacant WBF International
Lightweight title on November 29
in Tijuana.
Gonzalez, of Mexican heritage
but fighting out of Stockton,
California, is 10-5-1 (8) since
turning professional in 2017,
but can legitimately feel hard
done by in a few of the
blemishes on his record. He has
boxed in Mexico eleven times
previously as a pro.
“El
Mirrus”, Jose Luis Roa from
Mexicali, is the younger man by
five years at twenty-five, and
his record looks more glossy at
9-1-1 (6), losing only his pro
debut. But he has not quite
faced the level of opposition
that Gonzalez has, and this will
be his first real step-up fight.
The ten round bout will be the
main event of a card at Nuevo
Plaza De Torros, promoted by
Borizteca Boxing Promotions in
association with King Gio Boxing
Promotions. It will be streamed
live by Fight Hub TV from noon
local time.
