Three evenly matched World
Boxing Federation (WBF)
championship fights are lined up
for Friday March 12 and Saturday
March 13 in South Africa.
March 12 at the unusual venue of
Pollsmoor Prison in Cape Town,
South Africa-based Angolan
Cristiano Ndombassy, 11-4 (9),
will take on undefeated local
hope Jamie Webb, 6-0 (3), for
the vacant WBF International
Super Welterweight title.
“The
Warrior of Faith”, Ndombassy, is
by far the more experienced
boxer with six previous title
fights under his belt,
but Webb doesn't yet know how to
lose in the paid ranks, and has
no plans of learning that on
March 12. Brice Boxing Promotes.
The following day, Saturday
March 13, in Pietermaritzburg
not far from Durban, the vacant
WBF All Africa Super
Middleweight title will be up
for grabs when Lee Dyer, 7-3-2
(6), and Andile Mtungwa, 5-4-1
(4), square off in an all-South
African encounter.
The co-feature of that card,
promoted by Nomvelo Shezi, will
see Siphesihle Mntungwa, 6-1-1
(3), face Malawian Romeo
Makwakwa, 9-6 (6), duke it out
for the vacant WBF All Africa
Lightweight title.
All three fights are more or
less fifty-fifty, so it will be
interesting to see who comes out
on top.
