WBF World Title Fights In South Africa And Botswana

Two World Boxing Federation (WBF) world championship fights inside five days headline shows in South Africa and Botswana on August 21 and August 26 respectively.

On Sunday August 21 at Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Polokwane, South Africa, WBF World Lightweight Champion Ayanda Nkosi, 14-1 (8), defends his title against Filipino Carlo Magali, 25-13-3 (13).

Promoted by Uppercut Promotions and Tsela Promotions, Nkosi will be making his first defense, while reigning Philippines national champion, and former Asia, Oriental & Pacific and IBF Pan Pacific titlist Magali is entering his first, and long-awaited, shot at world honors.

On Friday August 26 in Gaborone, Botswana, local hero Steven Bagwasi, 7-1 (2), faces the vastly more experienced Tanzanian Said Chino, 19-9-2 (14), for the vacant WBF World Super Featherweight crown.

Bagwasi is riding a three-fight winning-streak since moving up in weight and suffering his sole defeat, by decision in South Africa, to the aforementioned Nkosi in November of 2018.

The fight will be the main event of s how promoted by Scud Missile Promotions at UB Indoor Sports Arena, and will be broadcast live by BTV.
