When Sanman Promotions presents
“Double Trouble” on December 31 in
Tagum City, Philippines, one of the
featured bouts will be Ian Sampan
vs. Jason Tinampay for the vacant
World Boxing Federation (WBF)
International Super Featherweight
title.
For hard-punching 21-year-old
Sampan, who has compiled a 7-0 (6)
record since turning pro in 2019, it
will he his first championship
fight, and arguably his biggest test
to date.
Tinampay (27) turned pro in 2013,
and while his record is negative at
13-16-1 (11) he will enter the fight
with momentum coming off two
knockout wins.
Both men having significant knockout
ratios, and aggressive styles, this
fight is unlikely to go the full
distance, and fireworks are
guaranteed on the last day of the
year in Tagum City, both outside and
inside the ring.
