World Boxing Federation (WBF) World
Super Featherweight champion Steven
Bagwasi is ready to make his first
title-defense on March 3 at the
Grand Palm Hotel & Casino in his
home-town of Gabarone in Botswana.
Bagwasi, 8-1 (2), won the title last
August, when he impressively
out-boxed Tanzanian Said Chino for a
shut-out unanimous decision and
became the first ever boxing world
champion from Botswana.
On March 3 he will face a tough
challenger in South African national
champion Lunga Sitemela, who brings
an impressive 15-1 (9) record to the
dance.
Sitemela captured the South African
title in May of last year, and
successfully defended it the
following November, stopping very
respectable opponents in both
outings.
The 31-year-old from Cape Town is
undoubtedly a worthy opponent for
the WBF world champion, and has a
considerable advantage in power and
experience.
Televised live by Botswana TV, the
Bagwasi vs. Sitemela WBF World Super
Featherweight title fight will be
promoted by Scud Missile Promotions.
