Gabriela Bouvier will fight
Argentina´s Agustina Marisa Belen
Rojas for the Interim World Boxing
Federation (WBF) Womens World
Featherweight title on December 9 in
Punta Del Este, Uruguay.
Bouvier, 18-12-1 (4), is a former
IBF world Flyweight champion, and
challenged for the WBF world Super
Bantamweight title in 2018 when she
lost a decision to Segolene Lefebvre
in France.
The 32-year-old, nicknamed “La
Gaby”, is coming off three
victories, including a split
decision over former WBO world
champion Carolina Raquel Duer last
April and a stoppage of former WBF
world champion Isabel Millan in
August.
The local woman will be the
favourite against “La Amazona”
Rojas, 8-5 (0), who has faced some
of the best in the world but so far
come up short every time.
In May of this year she lost on
points to Licia Boudersa for the WBF
world Super Featherweight title, and
six months later she was out-pointed
by former WBF world champion Delfine
Persoon.
But she has always made a good
account of herself, and at
twenty-five she is the younger and
fresher fighter, hungry to spring an
upset against the accomplished
veteran.
