World Boxing Federation (WBF)
championship fights took place in
Vienna, Austria and Glattbrug,
Switzerland on Saturday night,
December 2.
In Vienna WBF Womens
Intercontinental Welterweight
champion Michaela Kotaskova defended
her title against by far her most
accomplished opponent to date in
former WBO world Lightweight
champion Maria Elena Maderna from
Argentina.
The Austria-based Czech was
impressive, as she stopped Maderna
in the second round of one of the
featured bouts of Bounce Fight
Night.
Making her first defense of the
title she won last April, Kotaskova
improved her professional record to
5-0-2 (2). Maderna drops to 18-16-3
(2).
In Glattbrug, Switzerland,
undefeated local man Rico Giger
captured the vacant WBF Eurasia
Light Heavyweight title in the main
event of a show at the Restaurant
Glatthoff.
Giger (34), fighting for his first
title, stopped Germany-based
Pakistani Yasir Ahmed Malik in four
rounds, taking his record to 7-0
(5).
29-year-old Malik, who had taken
part in two championship fights
previously, falls to 9-3 (7).
