Considered one of the top prospects in South African boxing, undefeated 20-year-old Asekho Nocele is ready to fight for his first championship in only his sixth pro bout.

On September 27 at the Cape Town Convention Centre, Nocele will face local rival Ayanda Gangqa for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Bantamweight title.

Nocele turned professional in May of 2025, and has since eased through modest competition to compile a 5-0 (3 record.

He should be in for a stern test against Gangqa, who, while his record is is only 3-3-1 (1), is known for his toughness and willingness.

Billed as “Battle on the Foreshore”, the Nocele vs. Gangqa WBF title fight will headline a show promoted by Jackie Brice Boxing Promotions.
