Intercontinental Bantamweight
Champion Akani Sambu is ready to
defend his belt on Friday, October
11, Thaba Moshate Casino in
Burgersfort, South Africa.
Sambu, 5-1-1 (3), won the title a
year ago when he out-pointed Joshua
Suddard, and now he is ready for
another tough opponent in John Chuwa
from Tanzania.
Chuwa, 23-7 (10), is a former
Tanzanian champion, and has a wealth
of experience despite being only 26
years old. He is coming off
victories in his last two bouts, and
is primed for the opportunity.
Sambu is likely the betting
favourite due to his home advantage,
but Chuwa is more than a live
underdog and will be coming to win.
The fight is part of “Tsate
International Boxing Tournament”,
promoted by Mama Rocks Boxing.
