Results From WBF Double-Headers In Germany, Austria & Zimbabwe

FIGHT REPORT   Photo: No less than three World Boxing Federation (WBF) double-headers took place on Saturday, March 29.
 
 

Saturday, March 29, saw World Boxing Federation (WBF) championship double-headers in Germany, Austria and Zimbabwe.

At the Deutches Haus in Flensburg, Germany, Freddy “Pretty Boy” Kiwitt made a successful first defense of the WBF world Super Welterweight title when he convincingly beat Venezuelan puncher Evander Castillo.

Improving his professional record to 27-3 (17), Kiwitt controlled and stopped Castillo, who falls to 17-3 (16), in round nine.

In the co featured bout of a show promoted by Claussen Events and PWR Box Promotions, Lara Ochmann, 15-2 (5), beat Japan´s Akane Fujiwara, now 7-5-1 (2), to capture the vacant WBF world Super Featherweight title.

Ochmann, who entered the fight as the WBF International champion at featherweight, was the winner on all three judges cards: 100 – 90, 99-91 and 99-91.

On a card staged by Boxteam Bounce at the Multiversum in Schwechat, Austria, WBF womens world Welterweight champion Michaela Kotaskova retained her title by unanimous decision (97-93, 97-93, 98-92) over Argentina´s Gisela Noemi Luna.

Kotaskova, based in Austria but from the Czech Republic, takes her pro record to 10-0 (4). Luna drops to 4-7-1 (1).

Also, at Light Heavyweight, undefeated Mobin Khahrazeh improved to 12-0 (8) by unanimous decision (100-90 x 3) over Przemyslaw Gorgon, now 18-15-2 (6), from Poland to win the vacant WBF International Light Heavyweight title.

In the main event of a WBF double-header at the 7 Arts Theatre in Harare, Zimbabwe, promoted by Judgement Day Promotions, Hassan Milanzi fended off the challenge of Abdul Kubira, stopping the Tanzanian in round six, to retain the WBF International Super Bantamweight crown.

With the victory Milanzi goes to 14-3-1 (9), while Kubira, a late replacement for compatriot Haidari Mchanjo, drops to 8-3-1 (2).

In co-featured attraction, Tinashe Majoni stopped Aubrey Masamba from Malawi in round three to pick up the vacant WBF International Super Flyweight title.

Majoni, fighting for his first professional title, improves to 11-1 (7). Masamba travels back to Blantyre at 6-10-2 (1).
