Ukraine´s Mykyta Alistratov scored
the victory of his career on Friday
night at the Salle Calypso in
Calais, France, when he won the
World Boxing Federation (WBF)
International Middleweight title.
Alistratov, fighting out of Prague
in the Czech Republic, scored a
unanimous decision over local
favourite and defending champion
Florian Bruneval.
After ten round of boxing, judges
Bruno Boutrelle and Jean Pierre Van
Imschoot both scored the fight
99-91, while judge Patrick Devergne
had it closer at 96-94.
Coming up short by the narrowest of
margins in two previous championship
fights, it was an impressive
performance from the 25-year-old,
who improved his professional record
to 10-1-2 (5).
Bruneval, who won the title last
November at the same venue and was
making his first defense, is now
9-6-1 (2). Also only twenty-five, he
has time to come back strong.
