21-year-old undefeated prospect
Wyatt Trujillo, 10-0 (7), from
Guatemala will step up in class when
he fights for the vacant World
Boxing Federation (WBF)
International Super Middleweight
title on September 12.
In the main event of a show staged
by Trujillo Promotions in Guatemala
City, he will face Nicaraguan Yamil
Acevedo, 15-6-2 (7), an experienced
southpaw.
When the bell rings on September 12,
Trujillo will have been a pro for
just over a year, but he has been
extremely busy in that period,
averaging almost one bout per month.
But in Acevedo, who has won WBA and
UBO regional titles, he faces an
opponent from a higher level than he
has before in the paid ranks.
And still only thirty years old,
Acevedo travels to Guatemala with
his ambitions intact, and with no
intentions of just making up the
numbers. He will come to win, and
ruin the party for the home-man.
A crossroads battle between prospect
and veteran, it remains to be seen
who comes out on top after this
intriguing match-up.
