April 30 - 2010:
Delegates from over a dozen
countries - some from places as
far away as South Africa, the
US, Australia and Argentina -
today arrived in the Albanian
capital Tirana for the inaugral
World Boxing Federation
Convention and were greeted by
WBFed President Howard Goldberg
and WBFed Honory President Ylli
Ndroqi.
The Tirana International Hotel
hosts the event and after
check-in, registration and a
necessary rest the WBFed
executives got together for a
short meeting to discuss the
conventions' timetable.
In the evening, all guests
attended the Welcome Cocktail
Party, which included a
traditional Albanian show
presented by Mr. Ndroqi.
Tomorrow the Albanian Minister
of Sports and the country's
Prime Minister Mr. Sali Berisha
will be in attendance at the
official opening ceremony, which
is being televised live on
national TV channel Ora News.
