Saturday February 9 will see two
World Boxing Federation (WBF)
International titles contested
in France, but in two different
cities.
In Chateauroux, by the Indre
river, 29-year-old local
favourite Thomas Faure takes on
durable Georgian Beka
Mukhulishvili for the vacant WBF
International Light Heavyweight
title.
Faure, who entered the paid
ranks in 2013, is a talented
boxer but lacks in the
power-department, something only
one stoppage victory on his 15-4
ledger is a testament to.
Mukhulishvili, a pro since 2017,
brings a 6-3 (3) record to the
party.
350 kilometres away, in Pessac,
Francis “The Fighter Bomber”
Tchoffo from nearby Lormont is
set to face another Georgian in
Jemal Shalamberidze for the
vacant WBF International
Middleweight crown at the Salle
Bellegrave.
Born in Cameroon, Tchoffo (31)
has compiled a 19-15 (6) record,
fighting a long list of
top-class opponents across
Europe since turning
professional in 2007.
23-year-old Shalamberidze, 8-5
(5), takes part in his first
championship fight.
