												The World
												Boxing Federation has already
been busy in the New Year with
several fights lined up, as well
as some changes in our global
												team. With fights scheduled in
												the first three months in
												France, Azerbaijan, South Korea,
												Australia, South Africa,
												Philippines, Zambia, Uganda and
Tanzania, to mention but a few,
there is no time for our team to
rest or to take things at a
												leisurely pace.

												Sergio Sotelo
												assumes the position of WBF
												Chairman for North & Central
												America, Marcelo Ramia becomes
												WBF Chairman for South America,
												and former world champion Terri
‘The Boss’ Moss takes over as
												WBF Women’s Boxing Chairman. I
wish all three all the best for
the year, and look forward to
												their contributions to the WBF
												as the year progresses.

												Our Executive
												Director, Olaf Schroeder, has
been in talks with our potential
												hosts for our Convention later
												this year, and more details
												regarding our Convention will be
												released in due course.

												One of my
												youthful Vice Presidents, Jean
												Marcel Nartz, a highly
												experienced and respected boxing
												administrator, will this year
												celebrate his 70th
birthday and on behalf of not
												only the World Boxing Federation
but all boxing people, we wish
												him a great 2016. He’s as fit
and dynamic as ever and it will
be interesting to see if he
												invites me to his party!

However, the truth is that life
is very short and we don’t know
when our last day will be. We
need to embrace life and live it
to the fullest. We need to live
without regrets. We need to take
chances and we need to dream
												big.

												Anything in
												life is achievable with a
												vision, drive, commitment,
												belief and hard work. This
												applies that much more to
												boxing. To the fighters,
												trainers, managers, promoters
												and administrators out there
with big dreams – make them
												happen and live the dream!

I wish everyone a healthy, happy
												and successful 2016.

												Until next time, keep boxing.
