It’s been a crazy past few
weeks, with World Boxing
Federation (not to be confused
with other fake outfits!) fights
taking place with great
regularity in all corners of the
world.
As we continue to grow and make
more and more friends worldwide
it seems that certain
individuals outside the WBF are
unhappy at the continued growth
of the World Boxing Federation.
Rather than waste my time
focusing on these negative
individuals let me simply
reiterate that it is a shame
that the honesty, integrity and
professionalism of the WBF
causes a bit of negativity from
individuals whose names are not
even worth mentioning. On to
positive things then:
2017 has flown by and the WBF is
about to set a new record with
regards to the number of fights
worldwide and the number of
countries we work and associate
ourselves with.
From a personal point of view, I
have been all over the show and
met and worked with some amazing
people – people who appreciate
the high standards set by the
WBF and the warm working
relationships we have
established with them.
Japan, USA, South Korea,
Zimbabwe, Namibia, Egypt to
mention but a few have been on
my radar lately and it has been
my pleasure to meet legitimate
boxing people who tell it the
way it is without any nonsense.
The year is winding down but we
continue to be active with
almost a dozen fights scheduled
for the next five weeks. While I
will officially thank everyone
in my final Presidents Column
next month let me say that I am
incredibly privileged to lead a
team of dedicated, hard-working,
knowledgeable and at times crazy
people.
We are indeed a family, close
and supportive of one another.
Yes, families sometimes differ
in opinions on certain issues,
and the WBF is no different,
however we debate vehemently and
passionately for one reason only
– and that’s to make the WBF
bigger and better all the time.
As our fantastic North & Central
American Chairman Sergio Sotelo
would famously say: Seguimos
avanzando, we keep moving ahead.
No rest for the wicked as I pack
my bags for Korea in a few days’
time, when I get to see my good
friend Hoo Sik Choi in Seoul.
Guess I’d better go off and
practice a bit of Korean before
I leave!
