*** UPDATE! READ:
VENUE CHANGE FOR 2019 WBF
CONVENTION ***
There was great excitement from
WBF members around the world
when we announced our
fourth Convention to be held
in Oberhausen in Germany from
the 7th to 10th November.
I have always been extremely
proud that the World Boxing
Federation’s family who attend
our conventions are clearly the
most jovial and wonderful group
of people I have ever met, and
my level of excitement
heightened after receiving
several calls from our team
members already
inquiring
about the Convention.
At WBF conventions, everyone
knows everyone, there is
tremendous fun and laughter, and
time to meet and see both new
and old friends from all over
the world. Of course somewhere
between all the festivities is a
bit of boxing, perhaps a few
title fights, some awards given
out, gala dinners and more -
much more.
The
World Boxing Federation (WBF)
embraces everyone into the
family, irrespective of race,
color, religion and sex. We are,
and always will be a united
team, each member looking out
for, and after the next. The WBF
is truly my second family and
one of which I am extremely
proud and appreciative.
At the last convention in
Slovenia, and after almost no
sleep for three days, I thought
I needed a bit of ‘me’ time, and
I sneaked out of a late dinner
to go for a swim in the hot
water baths where I hoped no-one
would find me or at least for 30
quiet minutes.
Little did I know that within 3
minutes, the hot water baths
were full to capacity with WBF
members as jovial as ever and I
realized
at that moment how lucky the WBF
is to have the characters and
personalities it does.
While it may be an extremely
busy three days and three nights
for our executive members
working around the clock, it is
for me personally one of the
best things of the WBF - getting
everyone together, eating,
laughing, smiling, talking and
even perhaps a bit of drinking...
It may be 7 months away but the
excitement has certainly begun!
Book early and join us in what
will undoubtedly be the three
best days and nights of your
year.
See you in Oberhausen in
November.
Until next time,
keep punching.
