As the world starts the process
of vaccinations against this
dreaded virus, it is
heartwarming and welcoming to
see the world starting to get
back to some kind of normal.
Whether normal as we knew it
will ever be the same, at least
we have a start in the process.
It was indeed great to witness
the fans back at the English
football matches albeit in
limited numbers.
We all look forward to the day
when boxing fans are permitted
to attend fights around the
world at a larger scale, and add
the incredible atmosphere needed
in our sport.
We are looking forward to one of
the most anticipated woman
fights of the year where we
share titles with the WBC
insofar as the bout goes.
World middleweight champion Ema
Kozin (20-0) vs. world super
welterweight champion Noni Tenge
(20-1).
Youth vs. experience. Power vs.
finesse. It all adds up to a
very evenly matched fight which
could go either way.
I was extremely sad to hear of
the passing of a new friend of
mine Rodney Cruz Hunt. Rodney
attended our convention in
Germany, and he and I became
close friends. We spoke often
about the WBF and he was
instrumental in putting up a few
of our titles in Mexico.
He contracted the Corona Virus
and called me to let me know
that he was recovering slowly.
Sadly he succumbed to the virus
and passed away at far too young
an age.
We convey our condolences to his
family and friends and he
certainly will be sorely missed
by many.
Until next time,
keep punching.
