While the fight against Covid 19
remains, it is clear through the
collective efforts of one and
all, that we seem to be ahead on
points at this stage. There is
no time for complacency and we
must continue to be both
vigilant and cautious.
With my own beloved country of
South Africa wagging behind the
rest of the world, we now seem
to be in a much improved
situation with currently less
than 1000 new cases daily.
As the conditions here improved
drastically, President Ramaphosa
moved the level imposed down to
1 - the lowest level that we
have, and which thankfully will
allow spectators to be back in
attendance at shows.
This means a tremendous amount
for the local promoters, most of
whom struggle to secure funding
for their shows, and who need an
audience in order to pay some of
the bills.
We have some tremendous news
coming up which will be revealed
hopefully by the end of the
week, but at the same time we
have several shows lined up in
Korea, Botswana, Nigeria,
Zambia, Zimbabwe, DRC, Germany,
Mexico, USA, France to mention
but a few, and in addition I
have been in discussions with
several other countries which
hopefully will result in further
WBF contests.
Of course depending on the Covid
situation, we are eyeing a
potential Convention in 2022 but
a decision will only be made
early next year and dependent
again on the world situation.
We have had a few zoom sessions
with our team and
representatives, and the mood
has always been good, positive
and always with shared humor at
all times.
Eddie heads to Pietermartizburg
SA next weekend and both he and
I will be in Botswana the week
after.
Stay safe and remain positive at
all times.
Until next time,
keep punching.
